It measures 5-1/2 inches long, so you can drill deep into materials without swapping for a longer bit. The Irwin adjustable drill bit changes its width, and the minimum diameter creates a hole that measures 5/8 inches wide. The maximum diameter measures 1-3/4 inches and allows you to create much larger holes. That's the biggest benefit of this adjustable wood bit, a unique ability to match 19 different hole measurements at 1/8-inch increments. Its lockhead screw locks the blade in position, so you can maintain cut stability as long as necessary. The bit's 9/32-inch shank fits drill presses and hand braces for total versatility.
